Unlike municipalities in the European Netherlands, public entities in the Caribbean Netherlands do not (yet) play a central role in policy on educational disadvantage and youth welfare support, and therefore have no formal role (nor the associated resources) within the National Education Program.
For this reason, schools in the Caribbean Netherlands receive a higher relative amount per pupil to implement the program than schools in the European Netherlands.
We do, however, strongly advise schools and public entities to cooperate in situations where this could contribute to better implementation of the program.
